With your help I would like to use my past community and business experience to:

Provide every child a quality education for a productive and successful life. If elected I will make all my decisions with the students' best interests in mind.

To increase the community's confidence in our public schools, we need to:

  • Maintain the financial viability of the district.

  • Keep all students motivated by providing programs for children of all abilities from gifted to those with special needs.

  • Develop programs to help English language learners succeed at English as soon as possible in order to improve their learning and achievement.

  • Provide increased interventions and tutoring to improve skills so all students are at grade level by high school.

  • Have a standardized curriculum for the whole district. Invest in the teachers so they are trained to use the curriculum by a combination of district-wide training and mentors.

  • Communicate the successes of the district to the community.

  • Provide district and community recognition of teachers and staff for their efforts and results.

  • Develop a close working relationship with the Sequoia Union High School District to ensure our students are prepared for high school.

  • Increase community involvement by developing partnerships with businesses, government, and colleges to provide resources to the schools.

  • Identify successful districts with similar demographics to understand why they are successful, and determine if we can implement their programs in our schools.

  • Keep our children off the streets by increasing after school programs at each school by partnering with the City of Redwood City, Sheriff's Department and other organizations.

  • Increase parent involvement and education with programs like the Parent Institute.

  • Find ways to increase funding of the school district.
