Do we have fire safety?By Jim HarveyCandidate for Board Member; Montara Water and Sanitary District; 2 Year Term | |
This information is provided by the candidate |
In 1977 extensive improvements were made to the hydrant system in Seal Cove after Kathryn (respresenting MSD), Gary Warhaftig (representing MMBWIA), and the then-Fire Cheiffrom PMFPD worked together with the CPUC to require fire hydrant improvements be a part of the Citizens Utilities Master Plan. This Board made fire safety a first priority and set up flushing programs in less than 30 days after closing escrow. This flushing program will keep all the hydrants and pipes workingproperly. Improving and adding storage will be an ongoing priority. On 10/7/03, HMB Fire Chief Jim Asche said that the Montara Water and Sanitary District "meets the Insurance Service Office (ISO) and California fire code requirements for fire safety. Additional storage is insurance. |
