Go see the movie, Seabisquit. It portrays the 1930's Depression Era. The National Recovery Act produced the Civilian Conservation Corporation and work progress Administration. These programs gave our people a "second chance." We need National Plans designed to help people without housing.

Cities across America create anti-homeless laws because they are afraid more people will come to stay. Let us forgive our communities for their "knee-jerk" reaction to this National disgrace. This City has a day labor work wall. It has spent over 50,000 dollars on this project. It needs volunteers, office, telephones, and Identification Cards for workers. The City of Malibu has this system.

The new 16 Cacique Street Center needs volunteers, working with staff and homeless to create an Activity Agenda so that people can interact with each other. Youth and Senior Centers all have this. The Homeless of America need to see that people care. We can do this. Lillian Child gave the Hobos a place to call Home. They governed themselves. Helping others is like fixing each other, too.

What will be the future of our America?

Thank you. Vote November 2003.
