I LOVE NOVATO!
I HAVE TRIED OVER THE YEARS TO HAVE INPUT ON WHAT WE DEVELOP THAT BENEFITS ALL RESIDENTS. THERE COMES A TIME WHEN THINGS DON'T SEEM TO BE GOING RIGHT .
THIS IS WHY I AM RUNNING FOR COUNCIL...SEEING THE TREES ,MURDERED,CUT DOWN ON GRANT AVE.. THAT WAS THE LAST STRAW! IT HAD BEEN SAID THAT THE TREES BREAKING UP THE SIDEWALK WOULD GO BUT ONLY GRADUALLY WOULD THE REST COME DOWN. THERE IS ALSO A PROPOSAL FOR 2 AND 3 STORY BUILDINGS IN THE DOWNTOWN THAT WOULD ERASE THE FRIENDLY SMALL TOWN FEEL, MANY PEOPLE HAVE SAID THIS TO ME!
I HAVE ATTENDED SO MANY MEETINGS OVER THE YEARS AND RUN FOR COUNCIL A FEW TIMES SO I HOPE YOU MAY KNOW WHERE I STAND. WE WORKED HARD TO GET THE 'RIGHT TO VOTE' ON THINGS OVER 1 MILLION $ BUT SOME CREATIVE FINANCING HAS TRIED TO ERODE THAT AND I DON'T THINK THIS SHOULD HAPPEN ANY MORE....THE "PUBLIC" VOTED TO GET THAT RIGHT NOT TO HAVE IT UNDERMINED!
ASK EVERY COUNCIL CANDIDATE IF THEY WOULD UPHOLD THE RIGHT TO VOTE ON PUBLIC PROJECTS WHEN THE CREATIVE FINANCING WOULD LEASE TO ANOTHER ENTITY WHAT THE CITY OWNS AND THEN LEASE IT BACK TO THE CITY. THIS IS WHY WE PASSED THE INIATIATIVE IN THE FIRST PLACE!
My top priority is protecting neighborhoods from maxium development( Sunset Ridge,Tamapais Hill, Oleander, Marion Heights, Rudnick and Woodview, all hillside developments).
SO I WOULD LIKE TO BE ELECTED TO THE COUNCIL AND BE ABLE TO VOTE AND REPRESENT ALL THAT FEEL AS I DO . PLEASE MAY I HAVE YOUR VOTE . ... THANK YOU VERY MUCH...
Biography:
When I moved from Connecticut to San Francisco in'59 I met Bill(S.F. native) and he was going to run the office for Arthur Andersen in Lima Peru....we married and lived there for more than 3 years. Our first 2 daughters were born there...then came Boston and back to Connecticut(youngest daughter born there) where he worked in N.Y. City and then Greenwich. THEN came the return to California! From l975 til now I have been very active in Novato trying to keep our small town feeling...worked on campaign for sensible development at Hamilton...but most of all defending neighborhoods! Have been on Housing Commission('95 to '02). Got together with our neighborhood to purchase water tank site which now belongs to City for open space. All our girls went to Novato Schools and UC Berkeley and are married...just to show longevity runs in my family, my Mother turned 90 this year. When Bill died in '92 I had lots of time to devote to what goes on in Novato and still do! Ask me anything you want to know or that I can help you with in anyway.
