College of Marin has not upgraded its total facilities for over 3 decades. We desperately need 21st century facilities in order of effectively and efficiently serve our students/community.Education has evolved the past couple of decades from chalk boards to laptops and we need to enable our faculty to deliver their full potential without the handicap of out dated classrooms and absence of convenient technology. The College of Marin has without a doubt the best faculty, staff, and managers in the entire system and they deserve to have appropriate working conditions to serve our students. It goes without saying that our students also deserve an learning environment that is in keeping with the values and needs of our current society. It is crucial that we pursue the bond issue at this time as we shall not see interest rates this low in another decade. Obviously, the lower the interest rates the cheaper the bond is to fund. |
