Adhereing to the Grand Jury report of 2002
In the Grand Jury report of 2001-2002, the Las Gallinas Valley Sanitary District Board recomendations were direct and conclusive. The LGVSD baord has not adhered to any of the recommendations concerning zinc treatment, establishing a committe with MMWD to address common issues and find common ground while working with two separate regulatory boards. Capitol improvement programs suggested in the report have not been considered. The board needs to work in a more progressive direction to bring the Ditrict into compiliance on zinc levels and work with Marin Municipal Water District to lower there levels of zinc.
Fiscal issues included charging too many meetings and being the highest paid district in the county with no accountability. Considering themselves as a "working board" voting themselves full health benefits is not a truism. These benefits should be recinded and compensation for board members should be in line with other county boards.
