My adult life has been devoted to family and to education.
A graduate of Whittier College and Stanford University, my
career has spanned over 37 years, during which I was a
teacher of first through eighth grade students, a parent-
student counselor and a teacher of special education
students.
After retiring in 1990, I focused on volunteer activities
which included presidencies of the American Association of
University Women in Monterey(AAUW,) the Monterey chapter of
the YWCA and of the Old Monterey Preservation Society. In
1993 I received an award as an Outstndaing Woman of Monterey
County and in 1995 was appointed foreman of the Monterey
County Civil Grand Jury.
In 1999 I was elected to the MPUSD Board of Trustees and am
currently serving as president of the Board during this, my
fourth year as a trustee. I have long been an educator, and
I consider my role on the Board as a culmination of my
continuous involvement in education
