Greg Johnson

Candidate for Trustee Area No.3 El Camino Community College District

I am an independent thinker who will listen to all points of view before making decisions. I believe that El Camino College is an excellent institution with dedicated employees and motivated students who deserve a Board of Trustees that is responsive and willing to think outside the box or create a new box, if necessary.

There is a wealth of information and insight to be obtained from El Camino employees in support of innovation, enhancements, and the overall health of the College Community. El Camino is our community college. As such, it supports a variety of educational missions. The diverse program offerings contribute to the vitality of the college.

I'm dedicated to understanding campus issues and making informed decisions for the good of the El Camino Community. There is a rich tradition of achievement and educational excellence at El Camino that must be preserved and enhanced for future generations. I view El Camino as a community made up of students, instructors, administrative and classified employees, campus police, and a variety of vendors and visitors all contributing to the health and vitality of the college. All segments of our college community need to work together in order to provide the best educational atmosphere for our students. The El Camino employees care about the students. They work hard to provide a safe, clean, and pleasant atmosphere to enhance the learning environment. The student-teacher relationship is very important, but there are many more employees involved in the student's ultimate success at El Camino. The dedicated employees of El Camino College contribute in a significant way to a smooth, successful campus operation.

I pledge to be a consensus builder on the Board of Trustees and help make El Camino College a great place to work and learn.
