Candidate for
Governing Board Member; Whittier Union High School District

It would be an honor and a privilege to serve as your Board Member in the Whittier Union High School District. I have the experience, dedication, and skills to provide effective leadership.

As a lifetime resident of Whittier (except for the months away at college), I have dedicated my entire 29-year professional career to high quality education for all children in safe schools. During that time I have served as a high school teacher, coach and principal, and now as the deputy superintendent of a high school district and university professor. I have worked for many years to acquire the skills and knowledge needed to effectively meet the goal of improving all students' achievement.

I believe in accountability and have a successful track record of managing school and district budgets, and facility improvement projects for 20 years. During California's budget crisis and into the future, I can assure you that your tax dollars will be used efficiently to provide a high quality education for our students and for well-maintained facilities.

As an education professional, it's been an honor and a great source of satisfaction to improve student performance, enhance career preparation, integrate technology, and expand academic and co-curricular opportunities for all students. I look forward to continue using team and consensus building to strengthen and develop partnerships with all community members to improve our schools for the future.
