Political Philosophy for Libby Aubrey
Candidate for |

|
Libby Aubrey I have a common sense approach to our residents needs based upon my service to the community. I applaud the NCCP efforts. Our City of Rancho Palos Verdes should be beautiful and functional. We can further the cause by focusing on preserving the areas for native pre-Hispanic natural ecology, and I will explore the best plants the world has to offer to improve our city. Who in my city do I contact about a convicted felon across the street? I believe the city of Rancho Palos Verdes must have a commissioner who can address safety and security needs of our families. I will promote health and welfare through recreation, education, and community efforts to improve the quality of life for Rancho Palos Verdes residents. We should have results-based contracts for the city. Increase accountability by selecting a community commissioner, answerable directly to the city council, to observe and objectively report performance and the end result of city contracts. We should use the Brown Act with open meetings so we can know what the city is doing. Hold City Council meetings on a weekly basis 7-10 pm. Televise all city committees. Start Planning Commission review of aesthetics and physical city changes. I will promote a balance of age demographics so our children can come home to the Hill. I encourage higher educational facilities, physical fitness activity, and a strong cultural base in which our community can thrive. Together we can attain balance in our community based World Class environment. I will seek funds to realize the potential of our great city.
