I believe that I can make a positive impact on many issuesIn addition to promoting affordable health care, improved affordable education and jobs, I believe in a balanced budget, safe and clean environment for all members of society, gay rights and a woman's right to choose. I oppose the recall because I believe that is would be bad for California. It sets a costly precedent. The recall movement has the potential of forcing us to have costly special elections yearly . We need stability in government and frequent recalls would undermine stability. I also believe that the case has not been made to support a recall. The movement to recall this Governor began just a few months following this re-election. Nothing warranting a recall occurred in those few short months. I don't believe that the recall in this case has a legitimate purpose. I oppose proposition 54 which would limit the government's ability to collect racial and ethnic identity data. This is valuable data which will help us evaluate health care trends and educational services. We should not deny ourselves access to data that will help us. Racial and ethnic idenity should be celebrated, not ignored. I entered this race to discuss the issues. A vote for me will insure that the person who sits in the Governor's chair is on notice that we want action on these issues. |
