Candidate Statement for Jeff Mock

As Governor, I will make protecting that economic infrastructure our number-one priority. I will assist California manufacturers who find their products squeezed out of the domestic marketplace by goods produced in countries that don't pay our wage rates and don't make costly environmental protection and worker safety a priority.

I will initiate a major overhaul of workers compensation that returns it to the no-fault insurance system it was designed to be, with competitive policy rates and where injured workers are fairly and promptly compensated and cared for.

The root of our current budget crisis is our state's dysfunctional energy policy. I will initiate reforms that encourage distributed generation utilizing renewable and ultra-clean technologies like solar, wind, geothermal, and fuel cells to reduce our massive dependence on fossil fuels.

Finally, I will strive to infuse between the state's regulatory bureaucracy and the manufacturing companies that are the bedrock of our state's prosperity, an attitude of cooperation and partnership to promote progress on worker safety and environmental protection.
