I am a candidate for Governor for the simplest reason: the people of California deserve to hear about all of the issues affecting our state. And by "all of the issues" I include the impact of illegal immigration on California society. My rivals refuse to discuss illegal immigration. If pressed, some may grudgingly comment in a vague way. But you cannot save California and protect our future without addressing illegal immigration. Virtually every aspect of our life is affected by illegal immigration: schools, hospitals, jobs and urban sprawl. And while it is true that California has many other woes, the number one concern among citizens is "What are we going to do about illegal immigration?" As a native Californian, I am saddened to see how much our great state has changed over the last three decades. I will work to restore California to the great place it once was. I have an extensive financial background. I worked for over 15 years on Wall Street as an investment banker. I also worked for several years in commercial banking. After twenty years in banking, I owned and operated my own businesses. I learned first hand about the frustration of small business ownership - excessive taxes and outrageous worker's compensation rules And since I moved to Lodi, I have been an educator in the public school system. At one time, California schools were considered the best in the nation. Now, they are the worst. Steps can be taken to bring our schools back. But that will require bold decision-making. My campaign slogan is "Vote for Common Sense." Let's have a common sense discussion about all of California's challenges. We can do that without counter-charges of racism or immigrant bashing. Today is the best day to have that conversation. For more information about Joe Guzzardi, including articles, background information and daily updates, see http://www.GuzzardiForGov.com |
