Political Philosophy for Cheryl Ann Bly-Chester
Candidate for |
My political philosophy is that I am a fiscal conservative and believe in smaller and more efficient government. Businesses are being driven out of the state by tyrannical regulatory burdens, over-taxation, unbearable insurance requirements and liabilities, and a pervasive anti-capitalism attitude in California. Compound this with a government and legal process pandering to special interest groups; fraught with corruption, waste, fraud and obscene abuse; and institutionalized discrimination on the basis of race, age and sexual orientation; that is also unable to repair our crumbling education, infrastructure, and health care systems - it begs the question why anybody wants to live in this State. The answer is - because we love it. We live in the most beautiful place on earth, with a bounty of resources, wonderful weather, unique opportunities, lively and diverse cultures, and brilliant people. Even with a sagging economy, enormous budget deficit, fears of natural, terrorist and criminal threats, we still have abundance and can count many, many blessings. So my philosophy is also that - and I truly believe this - we are bright enough, care enough, and have enough resources to work through our problems to a safer, freer, and more prosperous California. |
