IMPROVE COMMUNICATION BETWEEN THE BOARD AND THE PUBLICBy Dave L. KempCandidate for Board Member; Burbank Unified School District | |
This information is provided by the candidate |
THE PUBLIC HAS A RIGHT TO KNOW WHAT TAKES PLACE IN THE BUSD, WITH CERTAIN WELL DEFINED EXCEPTIONS.The public needs to be better informed. I believe we must form partnerships with parents, teachers, staff and community leaders to study our needs. The input from such partnerships could be invaluable in ariving at the best solutions. A need exists to increase discussion on issues so that the public is better informed. Often times a very narrow highlite of an issue is presented to the public followed by a quick vote. A better relationship with our city council would be another example of improved communication. A well informed board is in the best interest of all concerned. |
