I first moved to Ohio (from Illinois) a decade ago to attend graduate school at Miami University, where I taught for six years and earned a Ph.D. But my background also encompasses extensive work in local politics, youth development, and public policy.
As Program Manager for the Americorps program "Public Allies," I recruited predominantly inner-city young adults to work as apprentices in community service agencies throughout Greater Cincinnati. Currently, I serve as Executive Director of Citizens for Civic Renewal (CCR), a non-profit, citizen-based public policy organization that promotes good government, volunteerism, and civic engagement.
My family--wife Monica and newborn son Nathan--reside in Cincinnati's Clifton area.
