Candidate for
Director; Calleguas Municipal Water District; Division 4

I want voters in my Division to know that I really enjoy this job, am proud to be associated with such a professional organization as the Calleguas Municipal Water District, and that I take my responsibilities as a Director seriously. I do not view this office as merely a stepping stone to higher office. I believe that water issues in Ventura County as well as the rest of California are a critical component of our quality of life. We have witnessed the impacts of deregulation of electricity. We must protect our water resources, infrastructure and current fiscal health from suffering the same consequences. Given our limited water resources, a reasonable balance of water uses by our agricultural community, urban users including residential and commercial, and natural resource and habitat needs is very important. This will require long range planning, negotiation and compromise, and just plain good will. I want very much to continue to be a part of the ongoing work that Calleguas has been doing in this regard for 50 years. Thank you for your vote.
