Hard Work, Family Values, American DreamBy Bonnie GarciaCandidate for Member; California State Assembly; District 80 | |
This information is provided by the candidate |
My parents came to America, worked hard, raised a family and instilled in us a love of country, faith in God and respect for our neighbors. These values guide my life and motivate me to run for the State Assembly. Sadly, some public officials today lack the values, courage and conviction to do what's right, like Governor Gray Davis' refusal to keep energy rates low and protect the Desert from blackouts. My agenda in the State Assembly will be simple:
Ensure reliable electricity at affordable rates especially when people's lives are at risk during the hot summer months. Help local residents find affordable health care with a special focus on preventive care for our children and ensuring dignity for our seniors. Make sure law enforcement has the tools needed to keep people safe in their homes, neighborhoods, schools, and at work. Oppose all new and higher taxes and balance the state's budget by ending wasteful spending and eliminating programs that don't work. Improve local schools by emphasizing basic skills and requiring all high school graduates to read, write and speak English. Support smaller government and local control. My husband a military veteran and police officer who continues to serve our country and I have two children. Like all parents, we care deeply about the future they will inherit. That's why we simply cannot afford to ignore the problems facing our community and our state any longer. If you agree, please vote for Bonnie Garcia for State Assembly. |
