Education:
Dan first came to California while serving in the United States Army being stationed at the Presidio of Monterey and attending the Defense Language Institute. He studied for over a year to become a Korean linguist and he graduated at the top of his class earning the Martin Kellogg Award. Dan served overseas in South Korea near the demilitarized zone. Upon his honorable discharge from the Army, Dan and his wife Wendy moved to California and settled in the Tri-Cities area. Dan has been successful in the high tech industry since moving to the Bay Area. He has worked for both software and hardware companies, holding sales executive positions with PC manufacturer Acer America and tech industry leader Sun Microsystems. For more than a year, Dan has been a panelist for the local AT&T cable television show: East Bay Politics with Buz Covalt. Focusing on state and local political issues, Dan has interviewed local politicians including State Senator Liz Figueroa and Assemblyman John Dutra. Additionally, Dan has volunteered for a number of local campaigns such as: Al Nagy for Newark City Council, Matt Edwards for Fremont Mayor, JoNelle Zager for 20th Assembly District, and James Fay for Congress (13th Congressional). Dan and his wife Wendy of 10 years enjoy outdoor activities such as biking, soccer and walking their dog Amber. Dan has volunteered for Special Olympics and assisted with fundraising for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. Dan is a seven-year member of the American Legion. |
