My qualifications as presented in the Voter's Pamphlet
I've been a member of the Board of Directors of the Valley of the Moon Water Distict since Janauary, 2001. From 1997 until joining the Board, I served as the District's legal counsel, and, in 2000, as the District's interim general manager. In my law practice, I've provided legal services to over twenty California cities, water districts and other local government agencies. My knowledge of the District and experience with local agencies can benefit the District as we continue to secure adequate and dependable supplies of water. Additional storage capacity is needed to increase the amount of water available for peak demand periods and emergencies. Effective water conservation programs have been adopted by the District, and should be pursued. The use of recycled water for non-potable water uses should be expanded in a way that decreases the demand for potable water and benefits the District's ratepayers. We should continue monitoring groundwater supplies to better understand the performance and capabilities of our underground aquifers. If elected to another term, I will continue to work for improved water facilities to serve the Valley with high quality water at reasonable rates.
