Candidate StatementBy Joe StandridgeCandidate for Board Member; Forestville Union School District | |
This information is provided by the candidate |
My qualifications as presented in the Voter's PamphletI am a self-employed tax C.P.A. and adjunct professor at both Sonoma State University and the Santa Rosa Junior College. Since returning to the area eleven years ago, I have coached junior varsity baseball at El Molino High School, served as the treasurer for the El Molino Boosters, and been the chairman of the Measure E campaign committee to improve Forestville School. More recently, I have begun working with the Forestville Education Foundation to raise money to fund various enrichment programs including Band, Chorus, and the Treehouse program. My daughter is a third grader and third generation student at Forestville School, and I was once the Student Body President (long ago!). I actively participate in the classroom as a parent helper, and have traveled on many field trips since my daughter started kindergarten. I am familiar with the area, the people, the teachers, and the important issues. I believe in being active in my daughter's education, and hope by being a member of the school board, I will be able to participate in the major decisions and the policy making for the coming years. |
