Candidate StatementBy Mike HealyCandidate for Member, City Council; City of Petaluma | |
This information is provided by the candidate |
My qualifications as presented in the Voter's PamphletAs a Councilman I have worked to strengthen the qualities that make Petaluma a special place to live and work. I have ben a consistently calm voice on our often fractious City Council. I pledge to work harder to improve our streets to the condition that our citizens expect and deserve. As Petaluma's representative on the Sonoma County Transportation Authority, I'm working hard to widen 101 and implement rail transit. I support a new cross-town connector to improve traffic circulation. I support careful infill development to fight urban sprawl and support economic vitality, including the historic downtown, high-tech and agriculture. I support giving the police and fire departments the resources they need to do their jobs. I support Petaluma's commitment to social services, including senior housing, domestic violence intervention and COTS. And I'll keep working for parks and recreation to make Petaluma as family and kid friendly as possible. I'm a 20 year Petaluma resident. My wife, Beth, and I have two children, Megan and Tom, who attend Valley Vista Elementary School. I have degrees in economics, engineering and law, and work experience as both an engineer and a lawyer. I would appreciate your vote. |
