Candidate StatementBy Tom HarrimanCandidate for Board Member; Gravenstein Union School District | |
This information is provided by the candidate |
My qualifications as presented in the Voter's PamphletMy fellow Board members have trusted me to serve as Gravenstein School Board President for the last two years. During the past eight years, we have improved Gravenstein and Hillcrest Schools with new buildings, increased teacher salaries, and smaller classes. We have hired quality administrators and teachers, achieved excellent test scores, and kept our budgets balanced. This is a team effort, and I ask your vote to keep me on the Gravenstein leadership team. Professionally, I have been a small town lawer in Sebastopol since 1986. My volunteer work includes sitting as a Small Claims Temporary Judge and Superior Court Arbiter. After completing my university degrees at UC Berkeley, I worked three years for the California Supreme Court. Social service is a core value for me. I was President of the Western Sonoma County Historical Society for many years and promoted Sebastopol's Centennial Celebration. As a volunteer in the US Army, I spent 19 months in Viet-Nam. Currently, I train foreign university exchange students in Africa, Europe, and Asia before they come to America to volunteer and work for US businesses. I ask your support to continue improving our children's education in our Gravenstein schools. |
