Smart Voter Official Statement for Dwight Wilson

Candidate for
Board Member; Cabrillo Unified School District

This is a copy of information submitted to elections officials by the candidate

DWIGHT WILSON Age: 53

Occupation: Long Term Care Health Care Professional.

Education and Qualifications:

The Cabrillo Unified School District provides quality education to our children. We have excellent teachers, quality staff, and dedicated administrators. Our school district is well run under the direction of our school board. As a member of the school board, I have provided the support, direction and made quality education for our students my priority and I will continue to do so.

We have many challenges. The cost to provide quality education is exceeding the income the district receives. The decision where to locate and build the new middle school still faces the district. There are on-going improvements we must make to our curriculum to better serve our students. Finally, the district must communicate the successes and challenges with the larger community.

I have lived on the Coastside for over 20 years and have worked with a variety of non profit, community and school related organizations. I am currently President of the Board of Coastside Children's Programs. Professionally, I am responsible for the administration of the long-term care programs for the Veteran's Affairs Health Care System.

It is with this background that I continue to offer to serve on the CUSD board another four years.

/s/ Dwight Wilson
