When it is built the tax revenue from the new hotel at Oyster Point Marina in South San Francisco will add thousands of dollars that will allow the District to pay off its loans to the State and plan its future.
An example of responsible financial management on the part of the Harbor District is easily seen in the lease arrangement with the developers of the new Hilton Hotel scheduled for Oyster Point Marina in South San Francisco. The land is owned by South San Francisco and managed by the Harbor District. Literally hundreds of thousands of dollars can be expected as tax revenue going directly to the District. This will give the often financially strapped District some breathing room and an opportunity to plan its future with confidence and an eye toward better user services for the public. The Hilton Hotel will also be of financial and personal benefit to the City of South San Francosco who welcome the hotel and have already approved the concept. This is an example of two seperate and distinct jurisdistions working together to the benefit of San Mateo County.
