ROY SALUME Age: 45

Occupation: Facilities Management Consultant

Education and Qualifications:

I have 18 years of building design, facility management, and construction project experience. I've worked with large companies and institutions to ensure that their buildings are efficient and cost effective. Most recently I've consulted with the Los Angeles Unified School District to improve their administration, facilities and maintenance operations.

Over the years I've also devoted much of my time to help make our community and schools better. I've served on school site councils, the PTA, and the CUSD's Facility Advisory Committee. As a member of that committee, I assessed our present and future school building needs.

I believe we must provide our students with the best facilities we can afford. I worked hard to help pass the 1996 school bond to repair our schools and construct a new middle school.

If elected, my practical experience and knowledge of the issues will help to get our new middle school built quickly.

I'm passionate about the quality of education we offer our students. These young people will one day take our places; we owe them the finest education we can give. If elected, I will dedicate myself to that mission.

I respectfully ask for your vote.
