LISA FERNANDEZ

Occupation: Financial Accountant/Mom

Education and Qualifications:

In 2000 I ran for Harbor Commissioner and nearly won. Conditions at the District haven't improved, they've worsened, thus my second attempt.

I have a B.S. in Finance from San Diego State University and was hired in 1996 as an accountant by the San Mateo County Harbor District. A hostile work environment fostered and perpetuated by current management forced myself and a co-worker to resign. Subsequently, approximately 25% of the District's workforce have left primarily due to management issues and prompted present Administrative Staff to seek protection from the Teamster's Union.

I am supported by current employees, leasees, sport and commercial fisherman. My fiancé is a former Deputy Harbor Master who pilots a long-line fishing vessel. Incumbent Harbor Commissioners Sally Campbell and Ken Lundie endorse my candidacy.

My priorities are: Raising employee morale, televising District Meetings, attracting new revenue sources to lessen the burden on County Taxpayers, purchasing the Princeton Boatyard, studying feasibility of introducing high-speed ferry service to Oyster Point Marina and reducing the Harbor's $17 million debt. Please review each candidate's qualifications to determine who has an actual connection with the San Mateo County Harbor District. I have the experience and ability to do an excellent job and I'd be honored to be your elected representative.

/s/ Lisa C. Fernandez
