We've come a long way since gaining independence from the County, but there is still much to do. I have been actively involved as a LOCSD Board member during the past four years (vice president for the last two). Things we need to do include:

ACCOMPLISHMENTS -- LOCSD DIRECTOR:

· Facilitated Final Project Report, Wastewater Project · Chaired LOCSD Wastewater Committee · Authorized issuance of Bonds for Wastewater Project · Created access to Public Information by contracting with Channel 20 · Developed solid waste program including ½ can rate · Upgraded Water Department · Developed programs to built and rehabilitate drainage basins · Chaired Budget Committee · Continued high level service in Fire Department · Aggressively lobbied elected officials to assist in grant funding for Wastewater Project · Successfully worked to obtain over $3,000,000 in grant funding to off-set Wastewater Project costs

COMMUNITY SERVICE:

· Commandant, Marine Corps League, Detachment 680 · Developed local Toys-for-Tots program · Initiated Military Color Guard to officiate at military funerals · President, Central Coast Veterans' Memorial Museum · President, American Congress Bridge Leagues SLO County

· 1965: Bachelor of Science, Finance, University of California, Berkeley · 1975: Juris Doctorate, South Bay University School of Law

· 1965 -1991: USMC active Reserve, Retired as Lt. Col. · 1975 -Present: Attorney, currently inactive, specializing in Customs law · 1998 -Present: Director, LOCSD, currently Vice President
