Candidate Statement

John Pratt Lincoln Unified Board of Trustees November 2002 Ballot

As a parent, grandparent, educator and lifelong resident of Stockton, I am a well qualified candidate for the Lincoln School Board. I have taught for over 33 years, in every grade from 6th through college. Both my wife and daughter taught in Lincoln Unified. My children were educated in Lincoln schools, and my granddaughter attends Lincoln High.

I respect the tradition of quality education in Lincoln Unified and will work to continue to improve educational opportunities, including access to advanced courses, for all students. I will ensure that students receive the help they need to succeed, and that they have a safe and productive environment in which to learn. High expectations and behavioral standards benefit all students.

I will facilitate an atmosphere of greater communication and cooperation among the staff and administration. We must provide an environment of mutual respect and support to retain our best teachers and staff.

I would be proud to serve our community on the LUSD Board. I will listen to the concerns of the various stakeholders and assist in bringing about positive solutions to the educational challenges we will face in the next four years.

Vote for lifelong experience in education. Vote for John Pratt.
