By Carlon Perry

Candidate for Mayor; City of Manteca

This information is provided by the candidate
Official Statement of Candidate for Manteca City Mayor
Official Candidate Statement

Carlon Perry, Mayor Age: 56

The Mayor's understanding of what our City's primary focus should be; better management of exploding residential growth, job opportunities without the tax giveaway attitude of the current Council majority, an effective program to reduce residential traffic speeding that protects our children's safety, and the need for regional planning to ease the traffic congestion nightmare faced by Manteca's commuters.

Mayor Carlon Perry was first elected to City Council in 1992, and Mayor in 1998, earning the Mayor's endorsement in the Stockton Record, "The Best choice for managing what promises to be a challenging and interesting future," and the Modesto Bee, "...open to change, willing to try new ideas and shake up the status quo when necessary".

As your Mayor these past 4 years, Mayor Carlon Perry worked to save Mantecans 6 millions dollars through the Waste Water Treatment Plant study, proposed and voted to place the Big League Dreams Project on the ballot, opposed the RDA giveaway of Taxpayer money, proposed and voted for the Tidewater Bikeway pedestrian crossing signals, and continually has fought to keep City spending and taxes in check.

Mayor Carlon Perry has always been a representative of the people, not bureaucrats and special interest groups.
