This information is provided by the candidate
I am seeking a second term as your Council representative for the City of Stockton.
Perfecting our rights to the Delta and insuring other reliable supply sources is critical to new jobs and growth in our community. Safety and security of our water is vital. Ground water recharge is imperative to agriculture and prevention of salt water intrusion. Potential budget cuts appear unavoidable. Police and Fire must be the last departments we trim. We must find ways to ensure against the possibilty of racial profiling. Cultural diversity and equal opportunity are achievable. By definition, "Diversity" is the reconition and acceptance of our cultural differences. These are elements that form the character of a vibrant city. I pledge to keep this goal and remain accessable for your issues and questions. We can build on our relationships with our School Districts through vigilant truancy enforcement and reaching more youngsters with "after school" programs. Early intervention with abuse, criminal activity and low self-esteem are essential. I will strive for elimination of government waste and control of the cost of city services and live within our budget in order to avoid new taxes. We can continually streamline the processing and avoid duplication. Our Downtown Revitalization must continue. The heart of our community is beating stronger than ever. The phycically and mentally challenged must have barriers removed. All citizens must have equal treatment and opportunity. Public transit benifits our city by decreased use of the automobile. Bus stops must be sheltered, maintained litter/graffiti free and safe for the ridership. Privatization to me means finding the best position for the rate payers. There must be careful consideration given to out-source our municipal utilities before any decision is made. This must benefit our city and employees. If not, I will be the first to say so. I consider it a privilege to serve my community.
