Marks Lam immigrated to San Francisco in 1969 from Hong Kong. He graduated from San Francisco State University in 1974 and has been a Sunset resident for the past 30 years. This year will mark the 25th anniversary of Marks and his wife, Tina. He is also the father of two sons.

For the past 30 years, Marks Lam has devoted much of his time to community and volunteer services. He has also directly participated in numerous informative seminars and activities to fight for community rights. Marks has been the recipient of many service awards, including the Knighthood by the Order of Saint John of Jerusalem, an international honor bestowed for his outstanding contributions to charity services.

Marks Lam is currently participating in the San Francisco District 4 Supervisor campaign race, marking a continuation of his ongoing devotion to the community - from a volunteer to a public servant.
