I Will Support U.S. History RequirementsBy Mark R. EvilsizerCandidate for Board Member; Palomar Community College District; Full Term | |
This information is provided by the candidate |
In the Spring of 2001 two incumbents voted to support a new A.A. degree that did not require the study of American History and Political Institutions. The teaching of United States history is essential to our democracy. Our students must have a knowledge and understanding of our government and the political process. This is a key ingredient for responsible citizenship. We must ensure that graduates of Palomar College are prepared to be responsible citizens, and take an active role to participate in our democracy. I will keep U.S. History a requirement for graduation. |
