Mayor; City of Poway

Mickey Cafagna has been serving on the Poway City Council since 1992. He was appointed as the Deputy Mayor in 1996, and since 1998 has been serving as Poway's third elected Mayor. Mayor Cafagna, his wife, Sharon, and family have resided in Poway for more than 25 years. They have two children; a daughter, Stacy; a son, Kevin; and two grandchildren, Joshua and Jared. Since 1974, Mickey has owned and operated a real estate business, Square One, Inc., based in La Jolla. Square One, Inc. is a professional firm involved in all aspects of real estate including land planning, construction, property management, and brokerage. He is a California licensed real estate broker and general contractor, and has been an Association member since 1974. Prior to his service on the council Mickey served the community on various council appointed committee's from 1986 to 1992. Mayor Cafagna currently serves Poway as the City's representative to the SANDAG Board of Directors and is the current Vice-Chairman,and is the current chairman of the Regional Solid Waste Association. He also serves as the designated alternate for the Metropolitan Transit Development Board (MTDB) of Directors.
