I am a product of the Alum Rock School District. I attended Alum Rock schools from first through eighth grades. I have three children attending Alum Rock schools, and I volunteer on site regularly. I have been involved in the workings of Alum Rock since my oldest son was in kindergarten. I began at the school site and have since progressed to the district level. I have been secretary to the PTA for the last 4 years, serve on the School Site Council, and I am currently the chairperson of the District Advisory Committee and chair of the G.A.T.E. Advisory Committee. I attend Alum Rock Board meetings on a regular basis to keep abreast of what is going on in the district. I also attend the district's Budget Committee meetings whenever my schedule permits. Education is my highest priority. I have been involved in all aspects of my children's public education since I enrolled them in pre-school. This commitment to my own children has naturally extended to the students at their schools and in the district. Children don't just deserve, but are also entitled to the best education possible. I am committed to making that possible. I have a working knowledge of Alum Rock School District through my involvement in various committees, and my attendance at board meetings. I also have a strong educational background, which provides me with skills that are necessary to serve the district in the capacity of board member. My education, which includes a Masters Degree in Business Administration enhances my educational background and experience. I fully realize that the position I am seeking will be difficult at best. I believe I am up to the challenge of making the commitment and working hard to achieve the goals I believe Alum Rock can achieve. |
