a brief description on issues that I think are important in our School DistrictAs a School Board member, I will Support: · Academic Excellence # As a teacher, I believe it is the highest priority to prepare our children for advanced studies by providing them with a solid foundation. · Campus Safety # A safe and pleasant environment is essential to a positive learning experience. · Attracting and retaining good quality teachers # To have quality education, we need quality teachers. I also support efforts in providing periodic training for teachers, to equip them with the latest technology, information and to refresh their knowledge. · Improving Communication between Parents & Teachers # Two-way conversations encourages parent participation which significantly enhances the student's learning experience and ultimately his/her academic achievement. · Soliciting additional funding and services # By working with nearby organizations and corporations, we can enrich the student curriculum. · Integrated programs of sports, music and art into the curriculum # As an amateur athlete and musician, I believe these areas are key in building self-esteem, helping students to stay focus, and in relieving stress. · Promoting good citizenship # Nurturing character is also important in that it teaches students how to respect themselves, others and the nature. |
