Education and Qualifications:

BS Finance, MBA; Certified Public Accountant; Parent with children attending Union schools for the past 11 years.

I appreciate the trust you placed in me when you chose me to serve on your school board in 1994. Working hard to keep that trust, I have made decisions with care, always focusing on how to improve our schools. I am proud of what our district has accomplished working together as a team over the past 8 years. Five schools have been named California Distinguished Schools. Students' test scores have climbed steadily. Starting teachers' salaries have been raised by more than 50%. A new library has been built at each elementary school. An ambitious district-wide modernization program is underway - on schedule and on budget. The budget has been balanced for the past 7 years. Closed school site leases have been renegotiated to provide $3,000,000 in new revenue. Safe school plans are in place at each school.

In these difficult economic times, I ask for your continued confidence. I promise to use my financial expertise, years of experience and best efforts to provide an outstanding education to every child in this district.
