Sacramento County, CA | November 5, 2002 Election |
Implementing our Master PlanBy James M. "Jim" StewartCandidate for Board Member; Sacramento Metropolitan Fire District; Division 7 | |
This information is provided by the candidate |
We are in the process of renovating our older stations and building some new ones. Our Master plan that the Fire Board developed last year is finally in the beginning stages. We plan to repair and remodel some of our older and more mature fire stations. Some are really in need of repair. We will also in the next 5-10 years be building several new stations in new locations. We have come up with a self-funded 15 year capital improvement program that will see many stations rebuilt and new ones relocated. This program is funded with reserves in our budget and each year we will add to the capital improvement reserve. Developer fees assessed in the area south of Mather Field will provide for a couple of new stations. One just south of Mather Field and one in the south sunrise area. The fact that the State of Calif. will be trying to get tax revenue from Special Districts like us to balance their books will make it a most interesting year in 2003. Help me and your County representatives keep the State from grabbing our revenues, and balancing their budget. |
