I would want to institute a formal means of establishing communication between the City Council and other service providers, so to speak. I've talked to several people about this idea and gotten positive feedback. There needs to be a sort of "guest chair" at the City Council table. At each mtg, it could be filled by someone from the Park District, Fire District, water company, School Board, an elected official who represents us at everything from SMUD to Congress, whatever. Instead of reading in the newspaper about plans and policies that affect us, we need to communicate so closely with these people that they will have told us before it becomes news.

They, in turn, would have a ready process for initiating the distribution of information to the Community.

We used to have a similar relationship with Mather. Community leaders met with the senior commanders at Mather on a monthly basis. It was known as MARCC, Mather And Rancho Coordinating Committee. Worked great!
