Long Time Philosophy

By Linda Budge

Candidate for Council Member; Proposed City of Rancho Cordova

This information is provided by the candidate
I believe in responsive, responsible, representative government.
Having held public office, I understand our responsibilities to the Community and to the people who elect us. It's important to understand the fiduciary responsibility of being an elected official. Being the custodian of the taxpayer dollars is a maturing experience.

Understanding one's role as a policy setter is critical for the smooth operation of the jurisdiction. Too often, newly elected officials tend to try to impliment the policy also. That's the job of staff. You give them the tools and the permission to a good job...and THEY WILL!

I have always believed that responsive, responsible, representative government is the most effective for the Community.
