Candidate for
Council Member; City of Citrus Heights

I am an 18 year resident of Citrus Heights. I moved here in 1984 from Hermosa Beach, California. I was born in Holland, Michigan (the second of five children) and raised in Southern California, where I lived most of my life before moving to Citrus Heights.

I have two sons, Patrick (PJ) Moran and Christian Bruins. PJ is 36 years old and lives in Rainier, Oregon with his wife of 14 years and my two granddaughters, Acoya (age 7) and Avalon (age 4). PJ is a psychologist and earned his PhD in 2000. Christian is almost 21 and has just returned to Citrus Heights after a year in innercity Los Angeles, where he worked with homeless adults and poverty sticken children. He is enrolled to start American River College in January.

As a board member and president of the chamber in the 1980's & CEO in the 1990's, I became involved in the effort to incorporate Citrus Heights. In 1996, I successfully co-chaired the campaign to bring cityhood to the ballot and its benefits to the citizens of Citrus Heights. I remain very active in the community, advocating for small business, teaching programs at local schools and participating in numerous community committees and task forces. I have the support of many citizens, businesses and leaders within Citrus Heights.

It would be my honor to serve Citrus Heights as a community servant on the city council.
