A trusted member of the board of Education since 1981, Jeanette Billingsly continues to serve as an active member of the school community. Her "hands on" practice of assisting the school district in maintaining high standards as it grows as a leading school district in the 21st century, remains a top priority. Assisting the District Attorney with aggressive enforcement of school attendance, by participating with "Knock and Talks" is only one of the many ways Jeanette serves the community. "Quality education for all is my goal. We should leave no child behind in our endeavor to prepare each and every student for the future. Our success as a school district rests with our graduates' reaching THEIR goals. When our students meet their goals -- then we all do." As a trusted member of the Elk Grove Unified School District, she not only advocates for the highest standards, she demonstrates her beliefs. She shows up and in every way, participates in academic activities in the classrooms and elsewhere throughout the community. As a board member, Jeanette has never lost sight of the need to plan for the district's rapidly growing student population. Her determination to keep technology at the forefront of student education represents her intense dedication to student success. "Let's do what's right for children." Jeanette spends countless hours at EGUSD sites. Her work ethic is above reproach. An advocate of technical education and alternative education, Jeanette has served on the advisory committee for William Daylor High School Teen Age Parenting Program. Her voice is also heard as a member of the California School Boards Association's Delegate Assembly. Jeanette promotes support for special education and special needs students by advocating for appropriate and effective interventions at every turn. |
