My name is John (Jack) Kramer. I live in Sharondale, in Calimesa, where I served on the Board of Directors of the Homeowners Association. I also served on the Board of Directors of Whispering Pines in Big Bear City, representing the 250 homeowners. Anita and I will celebrate 53 years of marriage in October, and we have three grown children. I was raised in Hawaii and witnessed the devastating events of Pearl Harbor on December 7, 1941 I served as a Merchant Seaman for ten years. I worked sixteen years as a Maintenance Supervisor, then worked as an elevator mechanic until I retired. Calimesa is a great little city and my wife and I have fallen in love with its charm. It has the feel of a rural area, and yet it has a vibrancy of exciting new growth. Growth means we need entrepreneurs and new businesses to maintain a local tax base. Planned growth will maintain the beauty of our town while having the proper infrastructure to accommodate the city we are becoming. Focus groups made up of all segments of the community should be working together. A close knit community is a strong community.
