Balance the budget...By Joey J. RacanoCandidate for Council Member; City of Huntington Beach | |
This information is provided by the candidate |
Don't- cut library hours*shut down HB tv-3*increase parking feesDon't-
and no way to treat visitors we hope will come back again and again! Do- Stop construction of softball complex at sully/miller, an 18 million $ expense we cannot afford We have numerous sports fields already, I have played on them (Read: GRIER* MURDY PARK* GOLDENWEST etc etc) ...This construction is also taking place on a sensitive wildlife area that should be SAVED, RESTORED, and CONNECTED with the SHIPLEY NATURE CENTER via an inexpensive pipe run UNDER GOLDEN WEST ST. ...SAVE the $18 million, and apply 3-5 of it to a PRO-HUMANE ANIMAL SHELTER of our OWN! That still leaves millions for balancing the budget,a temporary ANIMAL ADOPTION SATTELITE FACILITY and/or infrastructure repair!! DO-*charge fair rent to HB surf 'museum'and all other rent free entities in town*
DO-...Cut police helicopters back to LESS THAN THREE! Why? ...Because this is a city, not 'AIRWOLF'!! A chopper with great pilots keeps us SAFE! Three choppers with great pilots keep us AWAKE!!! As well as broke!! Ground two of those- at LEAST ONE!
You know, those studies where OCSD is basically funding 'scientists' to come up with this- "Well, it's not OCSD polluting the beach!" yeah, sure. Furthur, is the county going to REIMBURSE us? -nuff said... joey |
