Chris Prevatt Candidate Statement as filed with the Registrar of VotersChris Prevatt Health Services Planner Age: 41 I believe it is not enough to create laws that pretend to combat gang violence and crime. We must enforce our laws and address our gang problems. The incumbents believe the answer to fighting crime is writing laws that do nothing to fight crime. We need additional officers in our gang suppression unit, and more funding for youth programs. Cops belong on our streets not on the City Council. To fight gang violence we need programs for our youth that provide positive opportunities. Redevelopment is the best way to ensure the prosperity of Garden Grove. A common sense approach to redevelopment planning is needed. The jobs we create must pay quality wages and benefits when we pay the bill for new business development. The Council decided that only commercial property should be added to redevelopment and they believe apartments don't count as homes. True leaders base decisions on fact not political convenience. As a Garden Grove Sanitary District Commissioner, I have learned how things work in Garden Grove and I know I can make a difference. Together, we can bring common sense leadership to Garden Grove and continue on the road of Progress and Prosperity. |
