Board Member; Santa Ana Unified School District

Accountability for administrators, teachers, parents and students # and above all, school board members. Without real accountability, there can be little lasting improvement in our schools. From better support programs for struggling students, to focused career programs, to greater parent participation, real accountability means clear goals, real measurements of success, and candid public disclosure of results, and fair institutional and individual rewards (and if necessary sanctions) for measured success.

No magic exists to improve Santa Ana Schools, and accountability alone will not make schools better. But without accountability the improvements that have been made, and that will continue to be made, will be transient. Our school system must become a system that prizes results above everything else!

Only when we are each held accountable will test scores improve, will schools be built, will funds be spent wisely, will schools be safe, will students be able to achieve scholastic excellence. When elected, I will be accountable to you by establishing open communication between parents, teachers, students and members of the board. I will include city officials and the community in decisions that affect each of us and most importantly, the children of our city.
