I am a native California baby boomer raised in Los Angeles and I graduated from Long Beach State. After college I began work as a probation officer and lived in Northwest Orange County. My wife, Rosie, and I have lived and raised our four daughters in Huntington Beach for the past 16 years. Two of my daughters graduated from Marina High School and two from the Orange County School of Performing Arts. During my career I was assistant administrator of two county general hospitals, multiple clinics and currently I am an Administrator for the Department of Mental Health. During the 80's and 90's I was a Senior Deputy for County Supervisor Ed Edelman. My duties as the Supervisor's Deputy were to assist in policy development, health issues and oversight of a $12 billion budget. My family is education oriented. Along with my bachelor's degree from California State Long Beach, I earned a Master's Degree in Public Administration from California State University, Northridge. My wife also has a Master's Degree in Education, as does my daughter Leah. My daughter, Lisa, recently received her Master's Degree in Psychological Counseling. My daughters Laura and Tori are Sonoma State graduates, and Tori just completed the teacher's certification program at Fullerton State. Along with managing a full time job and raising a family, I have found time to become involved in my community. I am the current chairman of the Citizen Participation Advisory Board for the City of Huntington Beach. This board provides recommendations to the City Council regarding the use of Federal funds in the enhancement areas of the City. I am also a committee member of the Annual Paralysis Project of America's golf tournament held at Sea Cliff Country Club. I look forward to working with the concerned citizens of Huntington Beach and I want to work for you as a member of the City Council. Please consider me as your candidate. |
