Candidate StatementBy Ingrid McGuireCandidate for Board Member; South Coast Water District | |
This information is provided by the candidate |
This is my official candidate statement that will be mailed to all votersMy goal as your representative on the South Coast Water Board will be to ensure that we have safe drinking water in our homes and that our beaches and ocean are protected from sewer and runoff pollution. I am uniquely qualified for this position. In addition to serving as Mayor of Dana Point in 2000, I served two terms on the City Council and nine years on the Water Board. I am very familiar with the issues involved in water delivery and sewer processing. Dependable water and sewer service at the lowest possible rates must be a priority. I will focus on infrastructure repair and maintenance to avoid sewage spills and will continue to support urban runoff diversion projects to control pollution. My service on the City Council, which ends this fall, has shown me that the District and City must work together to protect our beaches and ocean. I will make certain a relationship of trust and cooperation exists between the City and South Coast. I am a twenty three-year resident and homeowner of Dana Point. I have a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Chemistry, Ohio State University and was a Fulbright Exchange scholar. I ask for your vote on Election Day. |
