Quality Education for Our ChildrenBy Nancy W. KirkpatrickCandidate for Board Member; Saddleback Valley Unified School District | |
This information is provided by the candidate |
I'm proud to have served on the SVUSD Board since 1997 and to be a public school teacher. I understand how important education is to you, not just because of my experience in education, but because my three children attend public schools in the Saddleback Valley Unified School District. I seek your vote because I'm committed to quality education for all children. Quality education can only be achieved in schools that are safe and free from drugs, gangs and violence. I will continue to promote such an environment and fully enforce District discipline policies. Quality education further requires an academic environment of excellence. SVUSD provides strong academic programs through outstanding teachers. The strength of our programs is shown in test scores placing our district among California's best. I will continue to work hard to ensure those programs continue and that we attract and retain the very best teachers. Our teachers are among the finest and deserve competitive salaries and benefits. Fiscal accountabilty is essential for quailty education. I will maintain a solvent, financially healthy district by closely monitoring costs, improving revenue wherever possible, and being involved in legislative advocacy. I'm enthusiastic about continuing as an accessible and responsive Board member. I ask for your vote on November 5th. |
