The MCSD has enjoyed a cast of good directors for many years. Does it need a change???
Bringing Honesty, Integrity and Experience to the Midway City Sanitary District
My qualifications are:
- I am a community activist, Administrator, and have a 29 year working career of continuous analysis, decision making and management.
- I'm "home grown" my family moved to Westminster when I was 2 years old.
- I attended Westminster schools and Graduated from Westminster High School.
- I have attended Goldenwest College, Santa Ana College and UC Irvine Extension
- I have worked at the University of California, Irvine for the past 22 years and have been a department manager for the past 12 years.
- I worked at the Orange County Transit for 4 years as the Sr. Aide to the Assistant General Manager.
- I worked at the Naval Air Station in Los Alamitos for 3 years as a purchasing assistant.
- I have 10 years of experience as the Treasurer and President of a homeowners association, and have established and maintained a well funded reserve account.
- I am the President of the Citizens for Government Accountability, Inc.
- I served on the City of Westminster's Community Advisory Group and on the Infrastructure Committee.
- My husband and I have been married for 9 years and have owned our current home in Westminster for 9 years.
- In 1978 & 79 I helped to distribute flyers and worked on my mother's campaign when she was elected as the FIRST WOMAN to ever hold a seat on this board, (Jane Kirkpatrick)- she was subsequently elected to successive terms serving a total of 14 years until her death in 1993. She and Jim Evans layed the groundwork for the success of today's MCSD.
- I have a 24 year historical perspective of the Midway City Sanitary District and would like to contribute to its continued success.
I have the endorsements of James V. "Jim" Evans, the current President of the Midway City Sanitary District; and Grace Epperson, the current Treasurer of the Midway City Sanitary District. Jim Evans is an accountant, a certified financial planner and a tax preparer, among other distinctions and degrees. Through his guidance this district has attained a financial status envied by many special districts. Grace Epperson has been on the board for 11 years and her understanding of complex financial principles and her duties as Secretary/Treasurer have brought sound perspective to this board. Both incumbents deserve to stay.
I am number 4 on the ballot on November 5; please vote for me! VIVIAN KIRKPATRICK-PILGER
